Jerome McKinley Arnold

Jerome McKinley Arnold, who departed from this world on July 14, 2023. Born on May 10, 1948, Jerome was the eldest of seven children, born to the late John Lee and Luetta Arnold in Sikeston, Missouri. He spent his formative years growing up in East St. Louis, Illinois, and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Jerome led a diverse and fulfilling life, having pursued various professions that left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched. He was a man of many talents and occupations, including serving as a fireman, driver, teacher, machinist, and businessman throughout his years. His willingness to tackle any challenge with a resolute determination was admired by all who knew him. After graduating high school, Jerome answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Air Force, dedicating four years to honorably protect his homeland. His service in the Air Force exemplified his commitment to his country and laid the foundation for the values that guided him throughout life. Jerome's love for sports was evident in his passion for playing semi-pro football and cheering on his favorite basketball teams. He found solace and joy in the camaraderie and thrill that sports brought into his life. Beyond his professional pursuits and sports interests, Jerome's true source of joy was his family. He was a devoted and loving husband to Christine Arnold for nearly 50 years, their bond a testament to enduring love. Together they faced life's trials and triumphs, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those they leave behind. Jerome was a father who epitomized unconditional love and support for his children. Though preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Arnold, he remained a pillar of strength for his son, Brandon Arnold. As a grandfather, Jerome cherished his role, sharing a special bond with his beloved grandson, Brandon Arnold, II. Jerome's magnetic personality and genuine kindness endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He never met a stranger. Jerome is preceded in death by his brother, John Calvin Arnold, his sister, Faye Evelyn Arnold, father in law, Sam McCollough, and sister in law, Saundra McCollough (Coleman). Paternal and Maternal uncles, aunts, and cousins. Jerome is survived by his wife, Christine Arnold, his son Brandon Arnold, his grandson, Brandon Arnold, II. His four siblings, Dennis Arnold, Kassy Arnold, Johnetta Arnold (Powderll), and Oleetha Arnold. His mother in law, Clarrisa McCollough and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
