She fell asleep in death May 30, 2022 after nearly 66 years of faithful service to Jehovah. One of ten children, Delene’s childhood was typical— she loved playing, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Delene’s joy for people expanded in her service to Jehovah. On November 12, 1956, she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah and she tirelessly worked in his organization until her death. She enjoyed many spiritual privileges such as serving as a delegate at international conventions, volunteering to assist with Kingdom Hall construction projects and having a meaningful share in the ministry. She was particularly fond of the early morning field ministry. Her time spent in service afforded her the opportunity to not only get to know her spiritual brothers and sisters, but to develop meaningful friendships. Known for her hospitable spirit, she would open her home for gatherings and meals. She had a kind and loving word for all. She was known for her self-sacrificing spirit. She would give her last to someone in need. She would often pick up the phone to check-in on the wellbeing of her friends and family. The family is at a loss without their beloved Del. They are thankful for the time spent with her, the countless laughs and the wise advice. Despite her passing, the family will cherish the beautiful memories that they have not only of her as a mom, but more importantly as a close friend. They eagerly await Jehovah’s day when he will utilize his kingdom to restore Earth into a paradise with everlasting life in view where perfect health will be restored and faithful servants like Delene can benefit from the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and be restored to life. Delene was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Keith and Vernal Lynch and sister Sylvia Forrester. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Leon and Omar Meek, and daughters Tania Meek, Inger (Patrick) Fletcher, and Danielle (Rechard) Hile; four grandchildren, Michael, Mikko, and Jeremy Fletcher and Trevon Meek; one great grandchild Kai Fletcher; brother Eric Lynch and sisters Aldeen Garcia, Corrine Powell, Lilac (Carl) Dixon, Dolly Stanley, and Helen King and sister-in-law Caryl Lynch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
