Everett Delane Garrett

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Everett Delane Garrett, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, at the age of 68. Everett was a cherished resident of Atlanta, Georgia, but his story began in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was born on Monday, March 18th, 1957. Everett was preceded in death by his father, Henry L. Garrett, his daughter, Shantay Garrett, and his brothers, Doland Garrett, Roland Garrett, and Robert Garrett. He is survived by his loving mother, Richetta Knight Garrett Mallard, and his devoted siblings: Noland Garrett (Shirley), Debra Mallard Wilson (Willie), Joe Mallard(Radeyah) and Gary Mallard (Nakeisha). Everett also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, special friends, Peanut and Skip who adored him dearly. Education played a pivotal role in Everett's life journey. In 1988, he proudly graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with an Associate's Degree in Photography. His passion for the art was evident as he embarked on a fulfilling career as a freelance photographer, capturing life's most beautiful moments through his lens. Everett also dedicated over a decade of his life to working in maintenance at Big Bethel, maintaining treasured friendships with colleagues and contributing significantly to the community he loved. A man of diverse interests, Everett enjoyed watching "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune," as well as fervently following basketball, football, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders auditions. These simple joys brought him laughter and comfort, reflecting his warm and spirited approach to life. The arrangements for Everett's remembrance and farewell are entrusted to Cremation Care of Georgia. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, Everett’s spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Everett Delane Garrett's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and loyalty. As we remember and celebrate his journey, we hold onto the precious memories he leaves behind, confident that his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who follow in his footsteps.
